New Job

As some of you may know, I have decided to change my "career"......instead of working with children, I have decided to take a turn at working with the elderly.  Last week I started a new job as an in-home aide for the elderly here in Branson.  So far my clients have been great and I love hearing their stories. I actually gave my first "bath" yesterday and it went better than expected. All in all this job is a good introduction into the field of health care.  Later this fall I am hoping to take a course to become a certified nurse aide. This will open a few more doors in the field and I am looking forward to advancing in this line of work. :)

So the other day I stopped by Walmart (no, that's not the exciting / interesting part of the story).  I parked my car and as I got out, the "gentleman" parked next to me, says, "Wisconsin huh?" - referring to my license plates...  My response was a simple, "yah". And he chuckled a little and said, "I can tell, I'm from...." (I stopped listening). It's nice to know that one word can still confirm my identity as a "Sconnie"!

So it's 8:46pm and getting dark outside.....no armadillo sightings yet, but I'm sure "Dylan" and "Mary" will mosey on up here shortly to snoop around and make Eddie go crazy! :)

Sugar Smacks Cereal

Have any of you out there ever noticed that when you drink coffee and later relieve yourself in the bathroom (sorry for being graphic) it smells like coffee???  Well I noticed today that apparently when you eat Sugar Smacks cereal (insert advertisement here)

(I know, throwback, right??) it has the same effect! Just thought I would share. :)
P.S. This cereal is no where NEAR as good as I remember it being as a kid!

Home, Home on the range.....

where the deer......
and the armadillo (even though it's hard to see, trust me it's there...)....
and the giant grasshopper....
ROAM!!!

The view from our back door:
this is where all the creatures reside....and apparently our house looks cozy because they seem to gravitate towards our back door...
P.S. That is not sand you see, that is actually dead grass, apparently that's what happens when it decides not to rain for a really, really long time!
